R.I.P. Skye

I come from a family of animal lovers...At one time while growing up we had 3 huskies, 2 poodles, and 3 cats. I have not gone as extreme as my folks with pets - we have 1 dog and 1 cat, and with 2 kids that is plenty. Until this morning my parents had 4 Australian Shepards, 1 Golden Retriever, and 2 cats.

While having a lot of loving animals can be a great experience, the hardest part is losing one. I just spoke to my dad and was told that this morning that their sweet golden retriever, Skye, died suddenly. She was a beautiful loving dog and will be missed by our family. R.I.P. Skye.

Bark for Life 2010

I was asked by Michael's kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Dudek, if I could help make a video for the local chapter of the Bark for Life charity that she helps organize and run. The editing setup on my computer is not the greatest so I asked my neighbor Aaron Schumann if he could give a hand with the editing. Aaron agreed and we both shot the footage and put together this nice little video for their website - enjoy!

Michael had a great time today at his 6th birthday party with friends and family. Our good friend Courtney Glass in addition to lending us their awesome moon bounce for the kiddos made this amazing "wrestling" cake for him:
