1st Day of School

Mya and Michael's first day of school for the 2010-11 year. Michael is starting first and Mya starting third grades. They were both very excited.

Some More "Old School" Videos of the Kids

I was digging through my photos/videos folder and came up with a bunch of videos we took of the kids when they were really little using our first digital cameras. Some of the quality is pretty low, but they are really cute.

Michael's 6th Birthday

Michael had a great time today at his 6th birthday party with friends and family. Our good friend Courtney Glass in addition to lending us their awesome moon bounce for the kiddos made this amazing "wrestling" cake for him:

Chichester Wrestling Tri-Meet

Well...another Saturday and another few wrestling matches to report on. Michael and the Pottsgrove Wrestling Club had a great day today at the Chichester Middle School Tri-Meet. Michael won both of his matches. Unfortunately Michael's 2 matches were about 4.5 hours apart which made the day veeeeerrrryyyyy long. His first match ended with Michael pinning his opponent in the first period. He executed a beautiful switch - one on one wrist control with a half nelson for the pin. I screwed up and did not record it by accidentally hitting record twice on my video camera. Here is the very end of his match after the referee already raised his hand:



Michael's second match was a bit tougher than the first but he still came away with a nice win after going the full 3 periods and winning by decision 6-3. He locked his hands a couple of times giving his opponent points that he otherwise would not have received. I did record this match and it can be viewed here:



We are of course very proud of Michael - thank goodness for the Nintendo DS, without it I don't know how we would have gotten through a 6 hour day in a middle school gym :)

Michael Loses His 2nd Tooth

Michael's tooth was very loose and he was excited to do the old tie the string to tooth and the other end to the door and slam it shut. It didn't work exactly as planned but he will be getting a visit from the "tooth fairy" tonight :)

Michael's First Flag Football Game

Michael had his first flag football game last night and his team won. As you can see, he is the smallest player on his team and the youngest but he did very well and continues to improve.
