Some More "Old School" Videos of the Kids

I was digging through my photos/videos folder and came up with a bunch of videos we took of the kids when they were really little using our first digital cameras. Some of the quality is pretty low, but they are really cute.

Sam the Cooking Guy - Shrimp Tacos

Sam the Cooking Guy - Shrimp Tacos

I made these for lunch today after watching "Sam the Cooking Guy" on TV the other day. They looked so good I had to try em. Super easy to make and unbelievably delicious.

Shrimp Tacos

Makes about 4 or 5

I say it all the time - keep a bag of raw, unpeeled shrimp in the freezer for easy last minute recipes like this. The chipotle/sour cream/lime mix that goes with this is so good. But don't get all freaked out with the chipotles, they're not weird. You just buy them in a little can for about a buck and a half in the supermarket. Actually, buy 2 cans - I also use them in my Chicken Enchiladas.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb peeled, uncooked shrimp, (31/50's are perfect) cut into smallish pieces
  • 2 limes
  • 1/2 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • corn tortillas
  • purple cabbage, shredded
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 small chipotle from a can, pay attention now - not a whole can of them - just one as they're hot, minced fine

Steps

  1. Mix well sour cream, chipotle and juice from 1/2 a lime in small bowl - set aside
  2. Heat pan well then add oil
  3. Add shrimp and stir fry quickly - the shrimp will cook fast
  4. When almost cooked, sprinkle with Old Bay then squeeze juice from half a lime on top
  5. Give 'em a quick mix and you're done
  6. That's it. I like to put everything out and let people make their own. Put some of the chipotle sour cream on a tortilla, add a little cabbage, add the shrimp and squeeze a little more fresh lime juice over the top.
  7. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Call of Duty: Black Ops - World Premiere Uncut Trailer

Love this franchise. This game looks pretty sweet. I am still playing MW2, so a new game like this in November will be awesome.

Butterfly

Took this with my iPhone at the park with the kiddos - the soft focus vignette and the saturated colors were done using the photoshop mobile app on the iPhone. Not bad for a camera on a phone.

Tiki Bar - 2010

Every year Gretchen and I end up going to the Tiki Bar. The Tiki Bar is a very cool laid back restaurant where you buy your food raw then cook your food on these giant grills. They always have some exotic meats in addition to the normal steak and chicken - like alligator k-bobs, wild boar, and rattle snake. It's located practically in the middle of nowhere but everyone seems to find it. The famous drink that everyone ends up getting there is the "hurricane." It used to be a tradition that whenever you would order one, the bartender would ring a bell and the whole place would cheer. But due to some neighbors complaining, bell ringing is no longer allowed...They also have a great raw "oyster or clam shot" at the seafood bar. The shot is a raw oyster or raw clam - a double shot of Absolut Peppar Vodka, old bay seasoning, tabasco, and cocktail sauce. It sounds a bit nasty, but it goes down smooth. Last night we went with some friends and had a great time. Here is a short video from our Tiki Bar adventure:

This animated video (narrated by our own Mark Harrison) gives a very concise explanation of what it is exactly that our company, Abraham Harrison, actually does. I think it turned out pretty cool.
